I work 22 hours and pay the rest of the fees outside of the funded hours. It’s not a massive saving, but it’s still a reduction in our bill by around £200 a month. I appreciate it’s so dependant on your personal circumstances if this is affordable to you though.
Depending on your situation working tax credits will contribute or if you get UC they will pay up to 85% of the childcare cost
Pay the rest of the bill 😂
@Scarlett my point was how can you work 16 hours if the nursery can only have your child in the nursery for 11 due to lack of space and still be eligible for the funded hours
Oh I’d look for a different nursery then. 11 hours is a very random amount of hours for them to have available
Sorry, I think I completely misunderstood you as well (11 hours = the 15 funded hours stretched across the year). It’s really frustrating, there’s a real lack of childcare places in so many areas. I’m sure you’ve already looked at other nurseries and childminders, are you on any wait lists to access the hours you need? Is there any scope in your role to able to work the remaining 5 hours from home after bedtime, or is it a job that requires you to be there in person?
I work more than 16 hours and pay for the rest of the fees x
