Hurting themselves for attention

How old is he?

My daughter did something similar when she was abt 2 tho she would pretend she was hurt, not really hurt herself. She did it for like 4-5 months I believe

My daughter does this sometimes I would try to redirect it or show her different ways of getting my attention

Yeah my first did something similar. If he got in trouble he would run head first into a wall. Bruised his head more times than I can count. My 1yo just randomly walks to something and rams his head into it a few times and then walks away like nothing happened 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

It could be normal, but you don’t want it to become habit. Try to fill his attention or connection cup before he gets to the state of hitting himself. He continues to do it because it works and he gets pi Jed up.
