Ignoring trick or treaters

Anyone else planning on pretending they’re not home tonight? Usually I go all out and decorate the front of the house and me and my partner dress up to answer the door. I just can’t be bothered this year, I’m 39+3, my partner is working lates and I can’t think of anything worse than getting up and down answering the door all night 😭

I tend to take my son trick or treating then once were home and hes in bed i switch all lights off close the curtains and watch horror films, im in a block of flats so dont really get any knocks though but its still what i do just in case x

We usually put out some pumpkins and our porch light on but like you, I am too tired this year to participate! We just haven't put any decorations out and will be keeping the porch light off. Our living room light will be visibly on but in our area, kids will only come to your house if you have a pumpkin outside and porch light on etc, so that will be enough to deter them this year. I don't think you need to pretend you're not in as such. If you haven't decorated then they shouldn't knock. 😊 That's the general rule of thumb. Hope you enjoy a nice quiet, cosy night!

I'm going to do an hour between 5/6 while my partner takes the little one out trick or treating. Then everything is coming in and lights going off 😆

Yeah if you don’t put a pumpkin out, they won’t come.
