I tried to tell my OB that I wasn’t seeing her anymore

I tried to tell my OB that I wasn’t seeing her anymore due to my new job starting on Monday and I can’t miss any days…. Long story short she ignored me and scheduled me every two weeks … I failed my 1 he glucose test … I’m not taking the 3 hrs test …. My new job don’t know I’m pregnant… and honestly I don’t plan on telling them until late November or December 🤷🏽‍♀️ and by that being said I probably will miss my appointments until I feel the need to go …. Also I haven’t gain weight this pregnancy soooo that’s a plus for me lol I’m 27 weeks …. I’m due 1/29

I would get a midwife instead then . And if she wanted to ignore you to be funny . I would be funny and cancel them appointments 💁🏾‍♀️

Are you high risk besides having diabetes? Typically they don’t see you every two weeks until after 32 weeks. Be careful about not taking the 3 hour glucose and not going to dr appts because neglecting your health and the health of your baby could result in complications or worse. Your job can’t discriminate against you for being pregnant but up to you if you tell them but you need to make sure you’re putting your health and the baby’s health first. It’s not really a plus that you haven’t gained any weight because you’re supposed to gain weight, your baby, the amniotic fluid and placenta should all add weight to your pre pregnancy weight. I was 100 lbs pre pregnancy and I’m 33 weeks now weighing 117 and this is baby #3 for me and with my oldest two I was about 125-130 when I gave birth. Just be careful that you’re taking care of yourself

It sounds like you’re a little high risk- I wouldn’t risk it. Your health & your baby’s health matter most. GD can be serious & appointments ramp up in the 3rd trimester bc they need to monitor the baby more. Tell your job ASAP so that 1. they can plan coverage for you when you give birth. 2. they legally cannot discriminate against you because you’re pregnant. firing you would be putting them in a lot of legal trouble. 3. anything can happen- babies come early/pre term all the time. if they know now, they can prepare for you in case anything happens. 4. you’re probably entitled to FMLA (family medical leave act), so please look into that so you can make it to your appointments.

@Hana I’m not high risk, she just extra 🙄…. I meant drastic weight gain…. I was 187 pregnant and I been between 200 - 207 lbs no more or no less these past 27 weeks …. I don’t know here reasons for wanting to me often maybe she does things differently idk …. But she always says I’m good and the baby is good … she never has any concerns… she did have me seeing a specialist because I was already pre diabetic before pregnancy… but I was never diagnosed or given medication ever ….. so she decided to send me to a Maternal fetus specialist and they said everything was going good and they have no concerns either …. So honestly I stopped going to be them too … my baby is healthy has all limbs in is measuring a bit over but not too much … this my 3rd child … I think I’ll be okay …. And honestly my OB only test my urine, take my vitals measure my uterus and listen to the heartbeat…. 5 mins appointments … I’ll pass on her too until I feel like I need to see her.

@Fifi i may be considered high risk because of my age possibly… but health wise im healthy lol …. 5 mins appointments I’ll pass on her too …. I don’t want to risk my job atleast for these two months lol … I have to things to pay for and 2 other kids to provide for …I will tell them eventually after I start lol let me collect a check or two … and I know they can’t legally discriminate but it’s GA and it’s at will sooo basically they can see my lil belly on Monday and be like NOPE FIRED …. And there’s nothing no one can do about it. And I probably won’t qualify for FMLA company policy be different…. I have wait until I get my foot in the door first. Monday is my first day…. And I have been turnt down jobs all early October because of my pregnancy…. The excuse they gave was they found someone more qualified… but still have the job updated and posted …. They noticed my belly that’s all.

Wow this sounds just like my situation. I started my new work from home job on 10/28 and I’m due 1/22 and have 2 other kids as well, I’m also under prepared for new baby. I have a bunch of Clothing but not much else. I did end up telling my supervisor on Tuesday about my pregnancy. Everything went well, but I do have to miss an hour of training coming up on Monday for one of my appointments. I will go to this one because I think I’m getting my Pap smear done but after that idk how my appointments will look. I only have 4 more weeks left of training hopefully I won’t have to see them again until after because my normal schedule is night shifts. During training it’s in the morning. I would see about getting into the appointments around your lunch or break time. Good luck mama 🫶🏾

@Fran lucky you atleast you have a work from home lol …. My next apt 11/14 …. My job has already made it clear I can’t missing no days in 6 weeks of training …. I start tomorrow, Also I’m due in 12 weeks lol …. Soooo idk …. I’m just going to collect whatever I can in the mean time … I don’t wanna get behind on my car note or my insurance…. Sooo i gotta do what I have to do 🤷🏽‍♀️
