Eleanora Alice *surname*?

We don’t know what we’re having and don’t intend on finding out. My partners Nana is called Noreen (little Norah) and her mum was Norah so really like the tradition behind it.

The spelling is confusing to me. it is pronounced Ella Norah?

@Lisa, it's like Eleanor, but with an a. So yeah, Ella - Norah.

Try finding a middle name that is traditional within your family and maybe that would work a little bit better than Nora. You gotta think about your kids names when they’re gonna start going to school and being tortured because your parents named you eleanora you’d be better off naming her ella like my daughter is Everly Ann it was my choice and first name and my mom’s middle name

@Samantha, there is nothing wrong with the name Eleanora. It's an actual name with multiple cute nn options. Why on earth would anyone torture a child with that name? There were nice ways you could have worded what you said. Be kind next time.

Yeah, I’m not nice. I am honest. There’s a difference and Eleanora is old. Extremely old. It’s about as bad as Ophelia, which is also extremely old. I don’t know why somebody would’ve subjugate their kids to being bullied being after your grandmother.

@Samantha whilst I appreciate your opinion, I think if children are ‘torturing’ other children based on their names that is down to poor parenting. Eleanora is a traditional name, which is more my style than a more modern name.

Well, I should inform you, traditional names have gone out the window

@Samantha in your opinion.

Have you seen children’s names today? They’re not all names for example and this may be a wild one Kim Kardashian name one of her kids West daycare let’s see somebody named her son king , everly

I know for a fact, there gone none kids in my kids school have old names it’s 2024

@Samantha, yeah, you can be kind and honest. You are just plain rude. Also, traditional names have not gone out of style. They have been making a comeback and are now quite common. Just because your small area of the world doesn't use these names doesn't mean they aren't common in other places. I work in childcare, and in the last 4 years, I have known multiple kids with older names; Hazel, Filip, Jean, Eleanor, Roger, Lily, Elle, Evelyn to name a few. I know people who have named their children; Henry, Jude, Theodore, Thomas, Evelyn, Florence, Anna, Albert, etc My point is to stop and think before you just spout hurtful words.

Those names don’t even exist now they may be in the book to be used, but they’re not names maybe for hurricanes but I literally have a kid those names don’t be if they’re not used in daycare anymore Eliana King Victor OK Victor may be old but I don’t think there’s a lot of boys names. The fact that you think old fashion names even sound good it’s it’s pitiful and Evelyn is basically mocked up version of my daughters name.

Those traditional names are very popular right now in the UK which may be where the original poster is from

@Samantha, honestly, what is your problem? Are you aware that Everly is a slightly more modern, "mocked up" version of Evelyn? Not the other way around. Also, I literally just said people have used them, so obviously, they exist. Why are you being so rude? Also, you literally have a kid? So do I, what's your point?

That your name picking is terrible, and your kids are probably gonna be tortured to rest of our lives

@Samantha, while I like some of those names, I never said I liked them all. My kid also doesn't actually have an old-fashioned first name. I just have the ability to be kind and empathetic. I do, however, think Eleanora Alice is a gorgeous name. You have to be trolling with how unbelievably rude you are being.

Alice is OK kind of makes me think of Alice and Wonderland But same names should not be mixed like Eleanor Alice that’s just too much a name should flow not be impossible for a child to say like my daughter is Everly I call her ev to evie

You also don’t have to like me I really don’t care

@Samantha, a kid can say Eleanora. I work with them, so trust me on that. She will be fine saying her name. I have a first name and 2 middle names and survived just fine. So did my brother. Thoughts on Elizabeth Anna or Alexandra Elise or Isabella Marie? It's not about me not liking you. It's about you being rude. That is something you should actually care about.

Elizabeth is old but also named after the Royals I have friend who named her Elise it’s eh and I like Isabella, my girlfriend named her daughter Isabella it’s old, but she always go by Bella and Marie that’s wild old

@Samantha, you do realise that Ann is an old name? Regardless, I've said my piece.

Yeah, I named her after my mother. I know it’s old. But finding a middle name that works with Everly that’s hard. lol I wasn’t born yesterday. I chose a family name or a middle name.
