Contraception pill desogestrel
Hello, just wondering if anyone else is on this pill or has previously been? I was advised this one due to breastfeeding and all been ok from starting in march, no period/bleeding up until the start of oct where I had a period or bleed for around 2.5 weeks. This ended around a week ago and I’ve just started to bleed again! Any advice if similar has happened to anyone ?

@Chloe yes I was under the impression i wouldn’t have a bleed! All been fine no bleeds since last month and now it’s started up again 😭 I was anaemic after giving birth so I’m worried that it’ll cause my iron to drop again.. I might just switch pills now baby is almost 10 months. Thank you for sharing
I was on that from 8weeks pp to maybe 4 weeks ago, I bled everyday sometimes all day and for days on end other times it was just a light period for maybe a couple hours and then it stopped (til the next day) x
I was on it pp and was told irregular bleeding is normal. I started getting migraines though so my GP changed it when I was about 3 months pp

I was on cerazette, which my doctor said is the same just more expensive so they now prescribe desogestrel, but it made me bleed irregularly. I’ve heard it stops bleeding for lots of women, for me it did the opposite, I bled more frequently than I would just having a monthly period, and I never knew when it would start or end, or when it would be back- hopefully that’s not the case for you though!
