Hawaii vacation

It depends on which island you’re visiting. They all have different attractions.

The only 2 islands that would have much more to do would be Oahu and Maui. Oahu has a whole lot of things from museums to hiking trails to theaters etc (I’d suggest looking in facebook events for that specific island) but it is heavily trafficked both by visitors and locals alike. Maui will have some other events, not as many, but it’s much less busy than Oahu. I can’t say specifically what attractions work best but Facebook events is going to be your best bet. There is a zoo and aquarium on Oahu. And an aquarium on Maui.

Maui also has Haleakala but it may affect the 2 year olds more sensitive ears with its elevation.

Highly suggest luals sorry if I spelt it wrong went when I was 12 and my sister was about 3 and we had a good time with the dancers and fire breathers and all that good stuff

Also, it’s ultimately your decision but the touristy areas are going to be far more expensive than local areas and you’ll have a more authentic experience in local areas. Another tip is just to remember two things. People work and live there daily. There are many tourists who forget that and do things more leisurely than preferred by locals. Also please respect that the culture is very different, sacred and beautiful. Things may seem different from what you know but be ready to embrace it! Locals have a bad taste in their mouths for visitors due to many entitled disrespectful visitors. It’s a different time and although locals are innately welcoming, that spirit has been spoiled within recent years. A smile and a thank you and an eagerness to learn will take you far and many will treat you like family!

@Kandyce I totally agree with locals are not always treated well. We totally agree and believe that when you visit places this is their home and we try our best to respect that and are grateful they allow us to be part of their beautiful home.

If you go too Oahu they have a lot of fun things for kids, they have turtle beach where you can see turtles, they also have Jurassic park tour where they can ride horses or go on the tour buses, you can do luau’s the kids enjoy that also. They have something called sunset dinner boat where you can eat a buffet or meal on the boat and walk and see the view. On Fridays by the Hilton they have fireworks so if you book it around that time you can see the fireworks from the boat. You can take them to dole plantation they have pineapples and trains for kids/adults to ride and they show you different plants. Educational for the kids, they have hiking or the botanical gardens is beautiful there. So much to do. It’s very fun in Hawaii, I have 7 kids and we vacation over there every other year and they love it , everyone there is very friendly and welcoming. I hope you have fun!

Can you afford a nanny? My nanny watches my little one while I’m with the big kids but also allows me time with my little one when I want.

Try care.com to find someone for a few hours even if you want some alone time with your older one. Also through the Marriott I believe they have nanny services. Maui is amazing. Enjoy!

Try to find a resort that has water slides for the kids. Boths kids will enjoy it. I went in 2 vacations this summer with my 8 year old and my 1’year old I made sure both resorts had water slides, kiddie sprinklers etc
