Does he go to nursery? Our two year old says 'daddy' alongside mummy and what we call my partner and I think it's just coming from her realising that it's what the world around her says, but she obviously has no idea what the word means. We just make a joke around the adults of 'oh she doesn't have a daddy'. I think when she's actually asking we'll say she doesn't have a daddy, but a donor and not everyone has a daddy - but it's probably hard to understand when most of her peers do. My nephew has asked the same question of why our daughter doesn't have a daddy a few times but it's genuine curiosity because that's what he has.

He does go to nursery and all our friends are mum and dad so it's a bit difficult. We have said all families are different some having mammy and daddy and some 2 mammy's,you have 2 mammy's etc

The total opposite to is- my daughter is going through a stage of saying to everyone rather loudly - no babies 2 mummies no daddies… we have never taught her that. But she knows that other families have a daddy
