Give to the grandparents for the day 🤣
It’s the worst 😅 I def took advantage of the grandparents when I was recently ill! There was no way I could look after and entertain my LG all day 🤢 if you don’t have anyone nearby who can help you out then screen time is absolutely FINE! Hope you feel better soon!
I don't think screen time is ever fine, and I don't even know what 14-months-old are even interested in screens. I'm on child nr 2, and although I'm not a natural with children at all and I don't even like playing with them, I do it for their sakes. There's loads one can do in terms of physical toys, little games, songs, dancing, to letting them play with household items or just discover the house. They sleep a lot when they're ill so time passes quickly.
@Amelia sadly the grandparent is also unwell 😂
@Yvonne we are both quite ill.
@Yvonne the least helpful comment ever
@Yvonne bore off, parent of the year award to you!
@Thank you, that's sweet coming from a teacher.
@Yvonne no problem! Mad that you’re judging people for screen time whilst poorly and yet just admitted that you don’t even like playing with your own children! Amazing 🤣
Screen time, making the room safe so if you dose off there wouldn't be an issue and lots of toys around for independent playing. Hope you get well soon! Don't let anyone shame you for screen time
It's fine we had some disney on in the background but she wasn't interested in that. We don't use tablets/ phones @Yvonne as distraction but I think parents are slightly untruthful when they say all screens are banned when they will use phone/ watch TV around child. My child found disneys Fantasia absolutely fascinating after her jabs and it was the only thing that would calm her down from being hysterical so sometimes there is a place.
You just need to give yourself a break. A day of screen time won't harm them in the long run. I've been ill this week and so has my little one so we've watched a few Disney films to pass the time.
