Literally minutes before reading this, my 8 month old smoked himself in the face with that dancing crab toy, while I was sitting right beside him drinking my coffee, and now he has a mark on the side of his face🤦🏼♀️ it’s good to let them explore and learn their physical boundaries, I’m sure most kids and babies have so many marks from playing, especially toddlers! Yes it can be alarming seeing bruises, but you can’t blame yourself. Of course if something big was to happen then you’d want to be able to prevent it, if you can, but bumps and bruises are bound to happen! I even get them often and have no idea where they came from 😂 I find most people that are anxious about it (the minor bumps and bruises) are the ones that aren’t around them as often, and once they have it happen while they are watching, they realize the marks come from the smallest things and it tends to relax them a bit more
Kids fall and we can’t always get there to catch them I get that. Whenever I feel like I’m struggling by to take proper care of my toddler or myself, I have to ask for a break. Whether that’s hubby taking over on his day off or finding a babysitter, I have to have a few hours to recharge and do something for myself by myself. My hubby is thankfully very understanding of this and he can see the difference it makes in my mood. Make sure you are creating space for yourself! I’m such a better mom because of this!
Not a bad mum! I have a 22 month old and he’s always getting little bruises and bumps. They are just so active and have no sense of what’s dangerous so they’re always falling and slipping. I was stood right next to my son yesterday and he fell into (a very shallow) pond. They are naturally accident prone. Definitely keep doing whatever your doing don’t be a helicopter ha 🚁
Let em learn! It’s scary for dad to come home and see little bruises and things because they don’t realize just how reckless their boys are 😂 either way you want your kiddos to know that when you fall it’s okay, check and make sure you can walk and wave your arms around and move that neck and keep on going! Best way to learn for the littles is to do! You’re doing great mama, we’re all raising little bam bams 😆☺️😂
The only time I tell kiddos to stop and wait is if they had a pretty good head bonk but even then they’re usually okay, resilient little beings
You’re far from a bad mom. Us moms go through enough 💜💜 you are a great mom!
You aren’t a bad mom but how old is your child? If they are in postpartum stage men can get postpartum anxiety too. My fiancé had postpartum depression funny enough but I thought I was gonna lose him. You aren’t a bad mom from accidents kids fall it happens 🤷♀️ my BIL when he was a child was always hurt because he was a wild child 😭 his mom cared about him a lot and she took care of them so well he just literally lived on the edge and always somehow got hurt (like falling off things)
