Question

Can anyone please explain to me what happens at your 41 week OB appointment? And how long after you’re 41 weeks will you be offered to be induced?

Feel like I’m not gonna have my baby on or around my due date and just don’t know what to expect after I’m 40 weeks

I think this totally depends on who you get. My midwife said she would just explain the options. (Like types of induction or waiting)
Some people will get more of a “we will book you in for your induction on this day” and it won’t feel like a choice.

I’d think about what you want and go in ready to hear what they have to say, but not necessarily be swayed by it. You can ask for extra checks if you’re worried but unless there is a clear medical reason, you don’t need to be induced.

I think I’d want to be induced though like I’ve honestly just had enough and I originally was told I wouldn’t be going over 40 weeks anyway due to ivf but apparently those rules have changed so I don’t know

My midwife said she had one woman go 4 weeks + 4 days over her due date and all was fine!!

The due date is an estimate and really we should be given a date range of likely labour. Like sometime between 39 & 41 you’ll likely go into spontaneous labour. After all the due date is mainly based on a guess of when you ovulated! That guess could be 2/3 weeks out!!!

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Labour??

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?

Groin pain?

So I’m 34 weeks with my second and for a couple days now I’ve had terrible groin pain so bad that sometimes I can’t even walk or shift a certain way or I feel like the baby is just gonna rip out of my groin… I definitely was uncomfortable towards the end with my last pregnancy but this is just absolutely awful. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or anything that helps?? It’s making it so hard to still care for a toddler when I can barely move without pain..
