Trisomy 21

Hello Mamas, we just did our amniocentesis and it’s positive for downs. I’m in total overwhelm. We already have three young children, I do virtually all the parenting on my own and just started a Masters program. I’m 15.5 weeks. Just wanted to come on here and say I’m totally lost. Side note this pregnancy was unexpected (apparently condoms don’t work). It’s a lot to deal with.

I also just got my amnio results back on Friday, positive for T21, you’re not alone. Feel free to message me 💕 I will be a first time mom so I also feel like I’m learning about being a mom and T21 all at the same time and it’s a lot

@Erika just send you a dm 😊

We had a birth diagnosis, feel free to message us babe ❤️

Its a total curveball for sure. Suddenly life doesn’t look like what you expected it to. And it’s totally fine and valid to feel whatever you are feeling. We had a birth diagnosis, and there was a serious grieving process. But so that was replaced for us by fierce love and a desire to give our baby the best life possible. He is now 22 months and we love him to bits. He is our easy child, although not without medical complications. The Down Syndrome community is large and supportive. Take your time to grieve. Whenever you are ready, reach out. The resources are there and quality of life for individuals with Down Syndrome is so much better than ever before. He is a picture of our little bundle of love. Hugs to you, stranger but also immediate friend. Despite not knowing you, we are connected through this and I will help in any way I can.

I have three children and my fourth has Down syndrome, everyone’s lives look so different but if you have any questions or fears feel free to message me :) xx

@Maria look at him now he’s so big and handsome!!! Hope you’re all ok :) xx

@Sarah just had our tonsils and adenoids removed. The recovery was rough but he’s doing ok now. I am now sick of course, but things are ok. 😊

I have 6 children and my 3rd has Down syndrome, he is now 9 years old almost 10 and by far my easiest child. We had a birth diagnosis, which was upsetting at first but quickly fell in love and wouldn’t change him for the world. I know a diagnosis can be scary feel free to message me x

@Erika my LO will be 4 months on the 16th, FTM as well. She is absolutely perfect! Feel free to massage me if you need to talk 😊
