Gassy/refluxy baby

I am losing my mind over a gas and reflux. Baby is 4 weeks and 4 days old, two days corrected. He is sick or spits up constantly and is so painfully gassy. And doesn’t poop very frequently doctors and paediatricians seem to just say it’s reflux has anybody got any tips on how to manage it?

You may have to take him to his doctor. They might change his formula and put him on liquid acid reflux medicine. Two of my kids has this and it was always bad. You can also try and put some rice cereal in his bottles, but I would take him to his doctor and see what they say.

I’ve taken him to docs twice and seen two peads, they have given him gaviscon and he’s breastfed. Docs have left me at the ‘manage it’ stage but I’m struggling

This sounds like CMPA, the best people to speak to is the feeding specialist though your HV, Dr's are useless when it comes to cmpa! Have you stopped consuming dairy? My son who is now 15 months was like this, he would spit up feeds all the time, barely poop, always in so much pain with gas and reflux. He would refuse to be flat on his back or even do any tummy time it toom us months of back and forth with the GP getting fobbed off until a friend of ours told us to speak a feeding specialist, after going though them he was referred to a dietician within the month and diagnosed with cmpa. He also has a soy and coconut allergy and was put on Alfamino formula. I would try eliminate dairy if you haven't already and speak to your HV x

Thank you, I have mentioned it to the HV and she just says it’s him being a baby especially as he was slightly preemie. I have been referred to the infant feeding team already so thank you for that! Interesting you sound similar x
