Membrane sweep
This is my 3rd baby but never had a sweep with my first 2, as my first came exactly on his due date and my second came 39 weeks and got induced due to PROM. I’m 39 weeks today and have a midwife appt next Monday when I’m 40 weeks, if by then nothing has happened she said I could have a sweep. Has anyone who’s due around now had one and any luck with bringing on labour? Also what is it like as I heard it’s painful 😣

Worked with my first at 40+4. Waters broke same evening. Personally wouldn’t describe it as painful just uncomfortable x
I’m currently 41+2 with my first baby, I had a sweep at 39+6 and a second one at 40+3, second one brought on a tiny bit of tightening and finally lost some of my plug but nothing else has happened since then 🙄🤦🏼♀️ I have another this afternoon so hoping that might do something more, if not I’m booked in for an induction on the 8th! 😅 I wouldn’t say they are painful, more just uncomfortable and I just took a few deep breaths as the lady was doing the sweeps and seemed to be okay xx
