Is this normal?

My boy is general a happy soul but will cry at different times (tired, if he sees his food and he’s taking too long, sometimes when I’m doing his nappy) I have some family (in laws I’ll add) that are making out he shouldn’t be crying for these things now and if he should be able to regulate his emotions at 16 months 🫠🫤 I’m a first time mom so to me it’s completely normal but then it’s a conversation that keeps coming up so now I’m not sure.

If those are the only times he cries you are lucky! My son is going through a phase that he cries for everything really!

Sooooo normal and I think will go on for a while unfortunately 😆

They don’t even develop the ability to start thinking logically (which is alongside emotional regulation) until the age of 5/6 🫣. These things are completely normal.

So normal. Tell the family that at their age they should be able to keep their opinions to themselves.

My little boy is v happy but tantrums when you make him do something he doesn’t want to, aka nappies!! If he sees his milk but can’t reach it he’ll go nuts! Sounds very normal x

Noone can regulate their emotions at 16 months! I can hardly regulate my now when I'm hungry 😂 My son does the same, especially when he can see me cooking.

@Hayley love this hahahaa! So true
