Mucus plug

Ladies… how soon after losing your mucus plug did you go into labour? I’m only 34+2 but think I’ve definitely lost my mucus plug this morning 😳

Pretty much on the same day, the mums that I knew lost their plugs and then went into labour. It was the same with my first and second babies.

Depends, I started losing my mucus plug (really, really thick, sticky, clear-ish yellow) around 35 weeks and didn't go into labour until I was past 41 weeks. Around a day before I actually went into labour I got my bloody show, which was the same but had massive streaks of blood

My mucus plug went around the same time as you. My midwife said that it can regenerate, so it’s not anything to worry about. I didn’t go into labour until 41+1 so lost it about 2 months before then. But do mention it to your midwife

It can regenerate - depends if you’ve had other signs/ symptoms with it

i was same day, but i was 41 weeks. i was told if you lose it early enough, it’ll regenerate xxx

Normal plug - didn't. Bloody show- had my baby 1.5hr later.

There is a big difference between the mucus plug and a bloody show. Mucus plug means nothing really, I lost mine around 32 weeks and had baby at 36+4. A bloody show (mucus with blood in it) is often a sign of labour

Lost my plug in the morning (around 10am) had my bloody show a few hours later, by 10pm I was on my way to hospital after my waters broke and having contractions every 2-3 mins straight away, had to stay in hospital till baby was born 4 days later as my waters broke before 37 weeks
