Spouse sponsorship- England- advice please

Hi really need some advice. I’m struggling emotionally and physically living away from my husband. We have a daughter who’s 4- British. I’ve had enough of this 5 years long distance and would like to sponsor him to come live with us in the UK. I was just curious in regard to the financial requirement as it went up from earning £16k per year to £29k. I’m currently earning £25k per year so a bit short. Can my application still be successful if I applied while earning this £25k? Also, if I was to get another job earning at least £29k, would I need to wait a couple of months to accumulate a couple pay-slips before I apply ? Please any advice will be appreciated. Thank you - An emotional wreaked mother and wife.

Unfortunately it will be refused for not meeting the financial requirement. You could appeal, which would likely be successful on human rights grounds, but that would take significant time (probably over a year) and money, and no guarantee. Best thing to do would be to get another job. You’d need to have it for 6 months to meet the requirements. Could also consider savings but would need a lot - over £70k. If you receive a specified benefit (for example DLA, then the financial requirement is different and you would be fine)

@Jasmine I truly appreciate you taking the time out to respond and explain. Thank you very much. I’m in the process of finding new jobs so by God’s grace all goes well. Was just a bit overwhelmed and having a difficult day yesterday so a bit out of patience but your advice of waiting and meeting all the requirements make sense. Thank you again Jasmine.

If he gets a job offer or savings then this can be counted towards the 29k as well. Do an application and see what they say. I sponsor mine and its still 18k for me because that's what it was when we started but currently earn less due to mat leave then part time, and its fine for the renewal because we can show savings and his salary as well. Good luck!
