My little boy loves ham sandwiches it’s the only lunch he’ll eat most of the time😂 our dietician and health visitor know and they’ve never said anything about it and I reckon if it was harmful our dietician would say something to us
We’ve given ham pretty much from the beginning in small amounts, he loves it!
For the amount they would actually have I don’t think it’s worth stressing over!
I haven’t given it yet but mainly because it’s not something we buy.
I've fed both my boys ham as soon as started weaning
Unpopular opinion here, clearly, but I wouldn't. I don't eat processed meats myself not just because of high salt content but ham contains nitrates and other carcinogens, high risk of parasites and listeria bacteria. I don't risk it for myself so wouldn't want to risk it for my LO either. Ham has strong links to cancer, Google it.
@Claudia I’m not being rude but loads of things can potentially cause cancer including the sun you can’t hide from everything that can potentially cause health conditions or else no one would do anything or eat anything
As I said unpopular opinion on here, no judgement from me, it's just my choice. There's plenty of other things to eat apart from ham so I can very happily avoid it without feeling any void in my life x
@Raj if you're not happy with little one having ham at nursery do tell them, you pay for the service and they need to provide alternatives. I've told ours that our LO is not to have any processed meats and they give him other stuff instead 👍
All thank you so much for your responses 😊
Mine has had a tiny amount of mine, I’d recommend getting nitrate free ham though.. Naked is who I use on the rare occasion I do get ham.. their whole line is nitrate free
Mine has had ham loads. And sausages are his current favourite! I just make sure to balance his salt content throughout the day
