Weaning

Just don’t know if it’s just me my baby turned 6 months had a HV appointment about going to food and she said how breastfeeding will reduce and supply will slow down. Is it normal that it’s just hit me that my breastfeeding is going to reduce and I just feel really emotional about it. I don’t want to loose this bond we have and closeness I’m a single mum and it my baby’s my world just don’t feel ready to give that up yet I know it’s best for her to start food and I will do that but I want to still breastfeed her long as it’s benefitting her anyone els ?

I understand your worries but your milk won't dry up ❤️ it will decrease a bit because baby will be filling up on food but as long as you still breastfeed on demand your milk will stay, this is how many women breastfeed to 2 years and beyond xx

Totally valid to feel like this, but i have read that they have such little food to begin with that it doesn’t make a huge amount of difference. and I guess the amount they eat slowly increases, your supply with slowly decrease so hopefully you won’t notice the decrease so much. You’ll always have a special bond with your baby, just have extra cuddles if you need them ❤️

I feel the exact same way, makes to so upset to think about eventually stopping breast feeding 🥲
