Nursery

My little one has been at nursery for three weeks now. I work three days a week. She can eat nothing all day and refuse to drink the milk I send in. This really worries me as she’s not eating for 9 hours. When I pick her up she breastfeeds really well and then makes it up by breastfeeding a lot in the evening and overnight. It just worries me the length of time she’s not eating for. She’s not the biggest eater of solids, she’s never been a foodie. I don’t know what I’m looking for with this message. Reassurance perhaps?

Can you give her things to eat on the way to the nursery? Can you also give her more snacks to eat. Maybe change in her personal space that she is used to at home is affecting her food intake. It will take her sometime, I would try the snacks and lots of fruits if she enjoys it x

I know somebody whose little one is now 2. She started nursery at 8 months and has always been like this. Her food intake now is a little better but defo no milk whatsoever or water whilst she’s there and they do long days! Xx

Our nursery is less than 5 minutes down the road and she has milk half an hour before starting there. She doesn’t really like fruit. I’ve been offering it for months. She will nibble on apple and a sweet blueberry. I send snacks that I know she likes in to nursery with her: cucumber, cheese, tomato, pasta, but it’s hit and miss whether she’ll accept them. It worried me on Monday that she went 8-5 without eating anything. It can’t be healthy! Today I had to work and she fed for 45 minutes when we were reunited. She’s finding the transition of me going back to work really hard. I hate seeing her so sad and confused 😢 xx
