Toddlers cutlery

Hi all, It might sound silly and I’m not sure if I’ve missed this somehow , but is your little one able to eat with cutlery yet,? I’ve been always feeding her with a silicon spoon which is kind of long so when she pick it up she can’t get in 😂 so I’m not sure whether she’s should buy some spoon that will be easier to hold for her? Do you guys have any recommendations for spoon & fork? Btw she is good eating with her hands lol 😂

I read somewhere recently it often takes till 7yo for a child to grasp using cutlery properly. Absolutely have her some to play with and work out and maybe sometimes she will get food in her mouth, but have low expectations. It’s all about sensory play at the moment.

My son usually uses hands for finger foods but for porridge, yoghurt etc, I’d load up a spoon for him and he will grab it from me and self-feed. Eventually, he’ll work towards dipping the end into the yoghurt. But that’s a long ways to go!!

Thank you everyone, this is good to hear I just thought that we might be behind with something ☺️
