Am I being dramatic?

So my daughter’s first birthday is coming up, which I have been preparing for for weeks! Her birthday is a day after mine which I honestly love. But today we got a package in the mail from my in laws (who are VERY well off). They’ve always been so good to my daughter, this year I saw the presents they got her and they spent over a thousand dollars on her presents. I’m excited to give them to her, especially sense it’s stuff we could never afford. But I found my present in the boxes of stuff and it was a bunch of free samples from Sephora and coupons. I’m grateful they still thought of me but I just feel weird about it, you know? I haven’t made my thoughts known to anyone cause I don’t want to come off as ungrateful. Thoughts??

I understand the feeling weird. For me it wouldn’t be the lack of money spent on me, it would be the seeming lack of thought that would upset me more. Could they have something else coming for you? Are they coming to visit for the birthday party and could give you something then?

Maybe that was just samples they found and thought you’d like and not actually your present? 🤔

Sorry just to clarify, present for you for what? Xx

@Chí her birthday

Oh then I agree with Del. They probably didn’t think to get you a birthday present, they just thought these samples would be nice to give to you.
