Long Hail bottle advice

Hi, I’m flying next month on a 11 hour flight with my 5 month old. We did short haul a couple of months ago and I just took a thermos of boiling water one of cooled and then mixed her bottles. She has a bottle every 2/3 hours so I feel like I’m just going to need a bag full of bottles lol. Should I take the amount I need or could I wash and sterilise on the plane? I don’t know if the flasks will have enough water for that amount of bottles - I’m worried about using plane water, I’ve heard it’s gross? Lol She does BF but mainly at night and doesn’t like it when there lots going on so I can’t rely on that! Any advice please? 🙏

I did a 13 hour flight to Hong Kong and asked the stewardesses for boiling water for the hot shot, and then used the bottled water that they give out for the rest of the water. I ended up taking 5 bottles on the plane because I had the space and didn’t have a way to sterilise them on board so that would be my advice if you have the room - you know what babies are like for sensing when we only have a certain amount of something 😂 Mine is also combi-fed so I also BF on the plane. They had the lights down for most of the flight so wasn’t much going on for him to look at

Could you use the ready to drink bottles? We had a few of those packed just incase x

I just did U.K. to Australia alone with LO. Took just four bottles. And threw the schedule out the window. Fed just before leaving for airport. Took one pre-made 9oz bottle for airport and take off. Let him drink as much as he wanted. Then had three bottles with the powder measured out for 9oz and a box of powder formula in the bag. Made these up on the plane as needed and asked them to sit them in cold water to cool them down quickly when needed. I flew emirates and they would rinse out the bottles with boiling water and clean everything as best they could. Had no issues with illness because of the water used. And everyone was so helpful. You’ll be fine. Don’t overthink it and don’t overload yourself with heavy bottles of water and flasks. Airline staff are usually really happy to help and accommodate especially on long haul flights. They will put the lights down if you fly overnight. Ask for a blanket and make a little tent to block out light/distractions XXX

Thanks ladies really useful suggestions ❤️
