My little boy started between 25 to 55 mls now he is 90 mls Every 2-3 hours. Sometimes I have to feed him an hour later which might increase to 100 mls. He is now a month old and he's over birth weight.
@Charlotte aww how amazing!! It’s just a sense of relief isn’t it! My little one sometimes only has about 45ml sometimes he can go to 50-60ml every 3 hours if we’re lucky! But sometimes he will have smaller amounts like 30ml, which I’m hoping is okay for him and praying he will be gaining weight! He was 7 pounds 6 when he was born, then weighed 3 days later snd was 7 pounds 1 which the midwife said is fine as they can lose upto 10%, then on Tuesday he was 7 pounds 2, so he’s gained an ounce within then 2 days, when he gets weighed on Sunday I’m praying he’s gained a couple ounces at least just to rest my mind x
@Angel did he start on small amounts when he was around a week old? My little one usually has about 45ml, but sometimes he can go to 50-60ml if we’re lucky but then other times he might only have 30ml which worries me but I think we just worry about everything as mums x
To answer your question yes when he was a week old he was 55 mls.
You were lucky if my little man drank 10 to start with but now he’s having 45-60 pretty much every feed and drains 60ml at every 9am feed the last couple days,, basically 2 weeks now. They’ve got tiny tummy’s they’ve got to stretch them at their own rate, long as bub makes it back to birth weight no one’s worried how it happens
My wee one was 6.13lbs at birth and at first midwife appointment couple days later was 7.03lbs he put on straight away and was only taking 30ml at feeds if I was lucky. He’s 3 weeks now and taking 90ml each feed maybe slightly bigger one before bed and he’s 8.03lbs. So the 30mls are totally fine ! I would assume anyway considering he never lost anything after birth x
Mine is similar, 9 days old today, but she's more like around 3 ounces (90mls) every 3 hours, ish, but she also seems to be cluster feeding and taking an ounce (30ml) every hour or so. She's big on doing what she wants 😂 she's also a 7lb6 baby and was almost back to birth weight by day 5 😂
