Breast feeding or formula

First of hello and hope your all doing well I have a 8 year old boy and now I have a baby girl thats abt to be 2 months … with my boy it was easy super easy he would feed good a bit colicky but so severe he would breastfeed all the time up to a year I understand every baby is different but could it be possible my baby girl has a problem with my breast milk? She is very colicky and is very fussy when I feed her my milk she cries so bad that I want to cry too bc I don’t know what to do … I burn her all the time and when she breastfeeds she kinda gets more irritated and tends to use that time to go potty i don’t know if I’m making sense..

Have you tried changing your diet?

@Monique yes I have I always eaten healthy due to my gestational diabetes and stoped eating dairy stuff her doctor said she could be allergic to a substance that milk is made or has she did better with soy formula for a bit without my milk but then the doctors said I had or if I could breast feed her still a bit she didn’t do much of fuss by then but I started pumping again and feeding her more my milk and she started being fussy again

Have you tried something for acid reflux?

@Coral I actually haven’t thank your for that !

How long have you been dairy free? You have to be dairy free for 6 weeks for the proteins to be out of your milk

Is it possible your letdown is too strong? That happened with me and I had to pump or express some before feeding her for the first three months. Her pediatrician just dismissed it as colic. I reached out to a lactation consultant and they figured it out instantly.

@Monique oh probably not that long I’m not familiar with so many things like that but thank you I will try furder this time

@Kelsey oh possible yes but she also feeds fast since birth

Also if you have any slip upset in the first 6 weeks it'll swt you back by 2 weeks. After 6 weeks if there is a slip up it'll only set you back 1 week.

@Monique oh ok thank you

@Ivett it could be a pacing thing. If it sounds like she's chugging or struggling to keep up you could try making her take a break momentarily. I'm definitely not a lactation consultant though. I just had to do that with my daughter. She wouldn't even realize she was full sometimes until I made her take a break.

Are you eating/drinking any coffee or chocolate? There is an amino acid present in both coffee and cocoa beans that often causes colic in babies younger than 6 mos. Each baby is different, some aren't bothered by it at all. Remember, it takes 2 full weeks to clear anything out of your system, and an additional 2 weeks to clear it out of baby's system. With my youngest he was much improved only 1 week after I cut both chocolate and coffee. ❤️

@Kelsey you know what I have been doing that and she hasn’t been so fussy

@Sarah no I don’t drink coffee since I got pregnant with her and I don’t really like chocolate or candy so I don’t eat it 😞
