Just don’t know if he has autism or not

I don’t really know what autism is My son used to say mama, dada, baba and couple more words when he turns two but then he stopped now he is completely non verbal. He will hand lead what ever he wants. He love hugging, kissing from me and my family. I never have any issues with his sleep. He got scared when there is anything in the tv flying. He lined up things and put everything in his mouth first. I put him on the spectrum what don’t know how long it will take to get him diagnosed. Please help as it breaks my heart to not hear him when I saw other kids of his age talking a lot.

He sounds exactly like my son who was diagnosed autistic with global development delay. We went through the public system with referrals put in at his 2 year old check, and diagnosis was at about 4 years old

My daughter started autism assessment at just before 3 years of age. She's now 3 ½ and although she's still delayed in her speech she won't shut up. She's the most gentle, sweet little girl. You can tell she's different from her peers but it's not necessarily a bad thing. She's thriving in her own way I have an older child (9) who still struggles with his speech and has ASD/ADHD/GDD. Some days are tough. We clash alot and it's harder to discipline him and make him understand what's wrong and right. But it's not the end of the world. Just accept and support your child the way he is. That's all that matters. Parenthood is challenging. Neurodivergent or not. It's just a different kind of challenge. You got this x

Thank you ladies

My son is very verbal but I noticed that he regressed with some skills with age. He had brilliant eye contact as a young boy and now at 9, he often won't look people in the eye, unless they are part of his immediate family. The same goes for physical contact. We are on the waiting list for assessment and the average wait in my area is 2 years. I wouldn't delay getting an assessment because waiting lists are long!

Hi, for the first few years of my son being born he wouldn't talk, he would point at things and make noises. I suspected autism but recently a educational psychologist said its looking more like ADHD and learning difficulties aswell as anger issues.. Its not always easy knowing the signs. Please don't worry, there are loads of children in similar situations X
