Breastfeeding/pumping

Hey everyone. I’m curious how long did you ladies breastfeed/pump for? This is my first baby and I been breastfeeding/pumping for 3 going on 4 months now. My boobs feel so tired. I get SO hungry. I want to continue giving my little one breast milk as long as I can produce it for her. But it’s just one of those days that I’m just here like “how much longer?!”. (I feel terrible for having that thought 😔). So how long did you all bf/pump for? Did you eat certain foods or drinks to keep you energized or full instead of munching all the time? Any tips or tricks is helpful!

We made it 16m and then I got sick with a random high fever and our journey ended. I’m still heartbroken I didn’t go longer but I’m proud we made it that far I pumped for year but never used any of my supply in the freezer. Broke my heart and made me sick to my stomach my hard work was wasted Good luck! I drank 4Ls of water a day while breastfeeding and ate high protein to feel full. I craved sweets too which I hated lol

I'm 6 months and about 1 x month feel the way you do now. Especially around my period. Every time I think of not then i think of all of the pain and inconvenience of formula and i am grateful for the flexibility.

I’m going on 5 months now, I rarely pump because I don’t have energy or time to do it. I should eat more food because I lost a lots of weight. Love breastfeeding so I hope I can do at least til he is 2 years old

5 months of combo feeding. We're transitioning to full formula now. I'm sad, but I can't keep sacrificing my time to pump a measly 4oz a day. 😔

My oldest was just over 3 when he self weaned and my youngest is 14 months. Who knows when it will finish.

5 months with my youngest, I’m gonna try for 1 year at least with this one! I love coconut water! Drink a lot a of it pregnant so I will be drinking that and love lemon water! I hope I can have meals cooked for me for the first few weeks till we get it down well!

I stopped pumping around 7 months and we breatfed till 11 months. I really wanted to do a year but my milk was drying up. Pumping was really hard on me and still my least favorite thing about having a baby 🥴 she started pureed foods at 4 months and then solid foods at 5 months. By 7 months she was more interested in eating food that bottles so I stopped pumping. By 10 months she really wasn't as interesed in breast feeding so we only did morning and night breastfeeding. Breastfeeding made me soooo hungry. I ate a lot of oatmeal and I always kept belvita breakfast bars near me. They were super easy to eat while breastfeeding.

I was lucky enough to breastfeed for 11 months.

I didn't have the best start about breastfeeding, ended up with sore nipples the first day she was born so switched to pumping and formula so bottle fed. As soon as the nipples healed I tried with breastfeeding again and by three months old we switched to EBF even because she dropped bottle on her own and never took back. I was pumping regularly at least once at night and maybe 2 during the day maybe 3, then reduced pumping on how much breastfeeding I was doing. Now it's been 5 months of no pumping as I'm EBF and weaning (baby is 8 months old), I pumped only twice in these months, one to relieve a mastitis and one because of teething she didn't eat that day and ended up with very full and engorged boobs and I had to pump to relieve that. You don't need to pump if you don't want to, breastfeeding if enough for baby. Producing milk takes a lot of calories (up to 600kl per day) this is why you are hungry.

10 months and I snacked all the time.

My lg is 2.4 yrs & I’m still breastfeeding her. I pumped for 1.5 yrs & never froze the milk. Just gave her the expressed milk within the day. We only breastfeed at bedtimes & nap times & when she wakes up in the morning. Don’t beat yourself up for feeling tired as it’s very normal. Breastfeeding is a hard, tiring thing but I felt it’s the best for her so continuing. Keeping hydrated & eating balanced meals helps but you can keep healthy nuts next to you while you feed to munch away x

I exclusively pumped for a year. I don’t know how but I did it lol. I was SO ready to be done.

20 months first 2y2m second Stop pumping if you can, it's a hassle, just feed directly. Definitely eat a lot of food!

Until she self weaned at nearly 4 years old. She never had a bottle so I never pumped, have you thought about ditching the pumping?

@Christina🤱🏼🍂☕️♈️ That is amazing! Why did you not sue any of the supply? Did your baby not take to it after it was frozen? I am trying to do the same thing

@Katelyn didn’t have a need to. I don’t have help from anyone with my child unfortunately. I pumped thinking family would be around or my husband would want to be hands on but wasn’t.

@Christina🤱🏼🍂☕️♈️ proud of you! Big accomplishment

@Katelyn thank you. 😭 that’s the first time anyone said that to me 🫶🏻 I’m tearing up 🥹

I’m 11 weeks and plan to keep doing but know how you feel, I’m def not eating a balanced diet either which will be contributing to how crap I feel some days as baby is getting all the good stuff via my milk n I’m literally drained
