Postpartum body

I’m 24, a little over 2 months postpartum and I’m 15lbs up from my original weight. I knew my body would change and for the most part I don’t dislike my new body but I don’t feel as strong as I did before. My core is not as strong and my hips ache after what I would have called a short walk prior to giving birth. I’ve got my birthday, Christmas dinners and engagement parties coming up. I just want to look and feel my best. Am I being hard on myself? Does it take longer to get back to your old self than I think?

Your baby is still a newborn and your body is still recovering from carrying your little one for 9 months. Plus the strain of birth/labor and healing from all of that. Stretch for your sore hips, and start getting into a health journey by walking more and doing postnatal yoga, and pelvic floor/deep core work.

Hi! It took me at least 4-5 months after giving birth to be able to fit in my old clothes. Your body has gone through so much in the past year. My midwife told me not to be surprised if it takes at least 9 months to feel back to “normal”. I had an emergency cesarean 6 months ago and my core still doesn’t feel strong like before. It is discouraging but it helps me to remember that time heals everything 💕

It took me 2 months before I started feeling better in my body and my stomach to fully shrink (I’m 21) I promise babe you’re being hard on yourself I did the same

I feel the same stress about how it’ll be for me postpartum. I’ve always looked after myself and I’m scared of never being able to lose the weight. All I can say though is that 2 months really isn’t a long time after birth so try not to stress and know you’re not the only one who feels this way.
