How long between feeds?

How long is everyone going between feeds when EBF? My daughter is 4 months and I’m still feeding every 2 hours and just wondering if I can start to stretch it out a bit? She will not take a bottle at all and I’m desperate to leave her with dad for longer 😅

Yeah I’d say 2-3 hours is pretty normal right now. Could potentially stretch to 4 hours but you’d just have to see how she goes!

My Babi just turned 5 months sometimes he can go For 3 hours but most of the time every 2 hours .

How much is your daughter taking per feed?

@Sid🌹 I’m not sure exactly how much but she now only feeds for about 4 mins each time!

I’ve just started stretching out my 4.5 month EBF olds feeds. I’d say during the day he very successfully goes 3-4 hours but pre bedtime I let him feed as much as he likes and keep offering so that he gets the calories he wants pre sleep, I will then try and consolidate the bedtime feeding. I’ve just consciously waited as long as possible or until he gets grouchy, I found I was often just offering the boob for comfort and not because he was hungry

All babies are different honestly. Some feed less, some feed more. Keep feeding on demand, your baby will tell you when they’re hungry.

My baby is 5 months and he's only just started to sometimes go 3 hours. 2 hours is normal for us

I’m in exactly the same boat! 😂 it’s hard but she does tend to go longer between feeds if she’s with her dad rather than me. Maybe try leaving her with him while you’re somewhere else in the house (just incase she gets upset and needs a feed) as it gets closer to the end of the 2 hours and have a bit of you time and see if she settles with him without a feed. When my girl was going through the sleep regression my partner would take her downstairs as well as taking her for a walk while I got extra sleep and she was always fine for a few hours. I think it’s all about the distraction

@Rebecca that’s a good idea I’ll try that thanks!
