I don’t have a medical issue no. My lactation consultant had asked for it as she thinks my supply might be a bit low as I’ve tried absolutely everything possible that she’s asked me to do to try and increase and when expressing I’m still not getting enough for a 2oz bottle for my little boy. So she wanted to see if it would give me the boost it needs to try get that little bit more to actually get enough to express a full bottle at a time for his feeds
Domperidome got me from producing 15ml when pumping to around 2-3oz (combined) every time I pump. Its worked amazing for me x
This is what I’m hoping, how often are you pumping and are you breastfeeding too or just expressing? X
@Sophie Atkinson how did you manage to get your GP to prescribe it? As I have similar issues? Did the GP do any blood tests first?
It was my lactation consultant that had asked for it from the gp for me as she was the one who suggested it in the first place. No, didn’t have any blood tests. Just asked a few questions when picking the medication up from the chemist x
@Sophie Atkinson ohh ok. I will see if I can get a prescription too. Thanks so much!
@Sophie Atkinson breastfeeding then pumping once and power pump on an evening x
Around 3 weeks and then my supply kept going up
Did you do anything different to help with increase of supply like extra pumps or anything like that? Really want to try and get the most out of the time I’m on the medication. How long did you take domperidone for? X
Wishing you every luck, unfortunately it didn’t help me but it did amazing things for a friend of mine !
my supply went up within 2 weeks. i would take my pill maybe 10’mins before pumping, morning lunch and bed and then still pump in between but only take the pill at those times and i got my supply from 10mls every 30 min pump to 120 in 20 min pumps (10m from both boob) in around 1.5 weeks i think!
@Sophie Atkinson yes pump every 2-4 hours if you can! and stay hydrated, drink lots of water before and during your pumping session xx
Why do you need meds to increase supply? Do you have a particular medical issue please?
