Temperature in 3 yr old

Good evening yall! My daughter has had a mild temp (99.9+) since Sunday evening. It’s been consistently 100.1+, temp has been taken orally every time, with the highest being 102.9. We went to the dr twice, once Monday and once today. She never sees the same pediatrician, the first one Monday said it’d be a concern if she had a temp for five days or more. I took her today as it was the fifth day and she saw her regular ped who brushed it off to being a cold. Both times we went their thermometer read 98 something, as soon as I got home I took her temp again and it was 100.5, I took mine to see if it was the thermometer and mine was 98.4 so I don’t think it’s the thermometer. I had been giving her ibuprofen and acetaminophen but it still stayed 100+. She started coughing Tuesday night. They finally tested her for the flu and Covid today but I won’t know for 72 hours the results of those. I plan on looking for a new ped’s office but am I going crazy? Could this just be a cold?

Ouphhhhh this is so hard to judge. What are her symptoms?? The fact you’re giving her meds to keep her temp down is a concern for that many days, at least for me. I also don’t know how she’s been acting etc. but I know I would have brought her to the hospital for testing if my pediatrician brushed that off for that many days. Knowing what’s out there heck no! My daughter had pneumonia twice so I really don’t mess around! Your daughter’s temp is low and her body could be adjusting and fighting differently but you just. Don’t. Know. I do know I went with my gut so you are a mama. Do what YOU think as YOU know your baby best. Good luck xo

Trust ur gut Mama. My daughter was sick a yr ago and we took her to urgent Care and they ran strep COVID, and flu test that all came back negative and the Dr told me it was just a 24-48 hr stomach bug and then that Monday (3 days later) she still wasn't feelin good and wasn't herself, took her to her ped and was told the flu was a false negative and if it wasn't any better Tuesday then take her to the pediatric hospital, but my gut said it was somethin more. Tuesday night my husband and I rushed her to the pediatric hospital cuz her fever spiked to 104.2 and they ran every test they could (urine, blood work, everythin) they found that she had a severe UTI and if I didn't take her when I did I wouldve lost my daughter that night. They found she has what they call a UPJ Obstruction which caused the UTI.
