LO hates nursery, tell me it gets easier?!

My LO is 21 months and just started nursery & he hates it he is hysterical every time he goes. He is fine when we stay with him but when we leave that’s when he cries. He is such a happy boy usually but from about 10 months started hated going to any classes and would cry so I think he is going to be shy which is fine but wonder how to navigate nursery. Any tips from parents who relate would be helpful!

My girl is the same age and we are 3 months in to nursery. I thought we were getting someone but she's back being very emotional at drop off. Baby number 2 is due in 3 weeks and I think it's something to do with that 🫤 She is upset when I drop her, she really likes her key worker and I get sent photos where she is happy! They are trying to work on her confidence and independent play whilst there, if I was to take her to a soft play she would run off and play without me and forget I exist but for some reason she isn't like that at nursery!

My LO also 21 months has been going to nursery since January and often still gets very upset at drop off :( but they always report back that she’s had a great day and is generally happy, and importantly she eats and naps well there which I know she wouldn’t do if she wasn’t happy

Our boy is 20 months old and he is unsettled at nursery drop off too, he also refuses to eat while there! We have reduced his days from full days to half days so we can make sure he gets food x

@Laura can I ask how your LO is in other class settings? Rhyme time? Swimming lessons or anything similar?
