Stop breastfeeding

My baby is 7 months old and since having teeth she has started to bite. She has made me bleed and it’s too painful to feed her. She is also waking up 4+ times a night to feed She has never taken a bottle but I am seriously considering swapping to pumping and bottle feeding. I am really upset about this. It was always my goal to breastfeed beyond 1 year. We had such a rough start with tongue tie, oversupply, nipple thrush and mastitis but the pain from her biting is even worse. I feel like we have come so far and I hate to give up now but I am in agony 😣

Bless you!! It’s such a fussy stage but it will be temporary and there are things you can do. A lot of it is to do with latch (as it always is!) if they’re latched properly they won’t be able to bite you and it requires watching them through their entire feed to notice when they move to bite. And get back on the lanolin and cream to recover and heal. Apply your milk to any sore spots to help heal

Don't feel upset. Pumping is breastfeeding too!

I'm in the same boat, I've introduced formula to my LG today with the Asda own bottles and she seems to have taken to both quite well, pumping hurts a lot for me atm too so formula is the way forward. On the plus side though, she is healthy, and I can see I've done a good job. She's 7 months old, went into 6-9 clothes at 5 months old and has almost outgrown them. A fed baby is a happy baby, regardless of how they're fed, it's going to be better in the long run with swapping as you're both going to be more comfortable and enjoy it more

@Bethany How did you introduce it? I tried giving her a bottle of pumped milk today and she got so upset and completely refused

I just waited until she was almost over hungry and gave it to her, may have jinxed myself though as the two bottles I tried to give her after she turned her nose up to
