Help weaning!

For medical reasons, I need to wean my toddler by December 1st. He never drank from a bottle. I don't produce much milk anymore, but he loves to be on my breast... and he wakes up multiple times a night to breastfeed. Any advice on what I can do to help the weaning process?

First I would get bottles to start introducing!!!!! That’s key! Water, formula or milk….whatever your preference if that’s what you’d like to switch to. Try to offer water when he wants to nurse during the day for a source of liquid! As fur night time……does he sleep with you? If so try not reacting right away to him wanting to eat. Kind of let him stir or get upset and see if he will fall back sleep on his own. You’ll have to ignore it a bit and it will be hard but he will realize that he can go back to sleep without it. Feel free to message me. All babies are different so what works for one might not work for the next. I’ve only gone through it with my first. My second still nurses. And I try not to always give it to her over night bc I’d prefer her to sleep through the night and get used to not needing me. I also rocked my babies to sleep after nursing so that’s an option. Oh and try to cut the feedings during the day if you can. Distract, distract . Offer lots of snacks/water

Try aloe vera cut it in half and rub it in the nipple well that what we always do anyway and it worked every time

@Sabine Casimir what does this do? Is it for the awful taste to make them not want it?

@Alyssa you could say that and also the smell, my mom told us about it and that what we've been doing. When I told people about it, at first they thought I was just making it up until they give it a try.

@Sabine Casimir hmm that’s interesting. I don’t think I’d want my kid to repulse me like that. Very odd but I’m glad it helped and worked!
