constipation, vomiting not eating

so my son (7 months) started an oral medicine for a yeast infection that has been causing trouble for 2 months and the medicine is known to cause tummy issues but it’s working to clear the yeast. he has another week of taking it but idk what to do because it’s causing constipation to the point of him not wanting to eat. he’s clearly hungry but it hurts his tummy to eat so he’s been refusing. i’ve tried all the constipation tricks and he’s managed little poops but still not enough to clear him out and get him to eat normally. i was just feeding him and he chugged 3 oz and then took a break and then projectile vomited. i guess my question is what do i do? when do i call the doctor? is this normal or should i be worried? he’s been on the meds since oct 29th and it’s a two week medicine. the constipation and barely eating started 3 days ago. i just want my happy healthy baby back

I would definitely call the doctor if you're worried. It's better to call and find out it's normal than to not call and find out it's a bad sign. For my baby, I give him pureed prunes and that usually helps him poop within a day. I try to give him the whole jar, but he doesn't love us feeding him purees anymore so I've mixed it into his food and he eats it that way. Like mixing it onto his breakfast, either an English muffin or pancake.

@Veronica i tried calling and the front desk said the doctor would reach out and she never did and now it’s the weekend🤷🏻‍♀️i stopped giving him the meds and i’m just continuing with the topical ointment we were prescribed. i tried prune juice and it got some of his gas out of him but i’ll try the prune purée and see if that gets him to poop!! thank you 😩we are really on the struggle bus over here

Oh no I hate that😩 hopefully the doctor reaches out next week at least... hopefully the puree works! I feel like it works better because it's not as diluted prunes as juice would be. It's so hard to watch your little one be constipated and not being able to do anything🥺 you can also try setting them in a warm bath, it can help relax the muscles to be able to poop. Just obviously make sure babies butt is in the water. I've heard pears work to help babies poop too, but I've only ever tried prunes.
