Done breastfeeding

I’ve made the decision to stop breastfeeding. My breasts have not got engorged or leaked or anything, and it’s been several days since I stopped feeding or pumping. Is there anything you need to do to dry up the milk in there or just leave it? I’m worried about mastitis.

I stopped but didn't do anything special, I just let it dry up on its own. But definitely make sure you're checking every day to make sure there's no changes and call your doctor if you start to feel off.

Some people swear by cabbage leave. I know you aren’t supposed to take cold medicine that dries your snot up because it can have the same effect on the milk ducts. But when I stopped pumping I slowed down the pumps and my son was pretty much only taking bottles and food maybe one or two nursing sessions a day so I think it tapered off natural

Since you're not having any problems, you can leave it, and it will dry up on its own. That being said, if you want to help, you can take Benadryl at night. It can help with sleep and also dry up your milk faster.

If they’re not engorged or hurting I’d say not to do anything. I started off slowly and once they stopped hurting I stopped completely & haven’t had any issues since.

i used cabbage and it completely cleared up! not going to lie i smelled like a walking pot of cabbage the entire time though
