@Kimberley thank you this makes me feel better, they haven’t mentioned autism just some concerned about him not making friends and getting bored of toys/getting upset quickly…they just want to work with him and me more and see if improves…I love the teachers I am sure they saying this for our own benefit
My son is turning 2 in February and doesn’t have the attention span he should at his age, he definitely gets bored easily with some things. He also isn’t speaking full sentences. Every child is different and it is common to have a delay in speech when learning multiple languages in their home Kids also play differently. You can mention it to the pediatrician but I personally wouldn’t be concerned
Lack of speech is common in kids learning more than one language much less four. I doubt very much his teachers have ever encountered a two year old learning four languages. Speech delay is SUPER common in this situation he has a lot to sort out! Lol. If it makes you more comfortable you can put him in speech therapy but its probably not necessary.
Sounds normal! My 2 year old is like this. Lots of energy. From one thing to another all day. Knows numbers, alphabet, colors, ton of words but no sentences. At this age they mostly parallel play-side by side but not really with each other yet. Not sure why they’d tell you they were concerned but nothing sounds concerning at all.
Hey, I currently work in 2-3's room in a nursery and I wouldn't be concerned based on what you said. Considering that he hasn't even turned two yet! He sounds like a typical toddler honestly! As you speak so many languages at home, I'd expect some sort of delay with speaking English as it's quite common when they learn multiple languages, but that's not a bad thing! Did his teachers suggest autism? Edited to add: I don't know of a single child who could speak in sentences when only just turning two!
