Is the a form of ocd?

Just after a little advice my youngest is audhd and I've noticed he has to do a certain routine before he eats his breakfast. He loves looking at himself in literally anything that has a reflection. He does it in the same order everyday. I don't want to stop him I'm just wondering how I can support him without hurting himself as he comes downstairs and has to look at himself in the window on the stairs and I worry he will hurt himself. Plus I'm not sure if it's a new stim or ocd. Any help or advice is appreciated

Is it causing him to get hurt walking down the stairs? I'm not sure if it's anything to do with ocd or not. Possibly because it's common to have co occurring conditions. I have certain things I do a specific number of times before I feel better, and someone asked me the other day if I had ocd lol. I was like, hmm, maybe 🤔 I'm not sure because the routine can change from more or less important.. my daughter also has a system for when she wakes up and it's shifted lately to involve more steps because there is currently more life stress, I just try to stay out of the way and see what happens naturally because I feel it will be less strict again when life settles back down

No it's not hurt him yet but it does worry me alot. As hes not concentrating on walking carefully downstairs. We tried moving the mirror to where it was safer but then he decided to move the mirror in to the living room 🙈 other times it's in the catch of a door which he did scrape himself.

Oh goodness, I'd say maybe just guide him down a few times and talk to him about being slow and careful if he will hear you out

We are constantly guiding him and explaining the danger but it doesnt seem to be goin in. but this morning before I could get up he was already downstairs in the dark looking at himself in the window on the landing he can't get to the window but can if he's at the top of the stairs.
