Walnut tree farm.

We have a family meal at walnut tree farm today for a family members birthday. I imagine as it’s most of the family, it’s going to go on for a while. It will be first time going for a meal with a baby too! I have an 8 month old baby that is now on solids but doesn’t really eat a lot (most goes on the floor). I don’t want to pay for a children’s meal for him to only eat a tiny amount so I was wondering if I could take his plate with me and share mine? Do people do that? Or pay for them to have a few mouthfuls 😂 I know they do pouches but he won’t eat them and much prefers whole food cut up tiny. Also, is the children’s area any good for babies? Just incase he gets restless.

Hi, have a lovely meal :) we went with friends a few weeks back and just gave our boys some of our food. The restaurant doesn’t mind at all. The kids area has a big indoor climbing frame with a slide but there is also a. Soft play for 0-2years old. Some of the older kids get in the soft play but as soon as they saw the babies, they got out when we were there xx

@Becca thank you so much for your response!x

Take a plate with you and share yours. No one will judge, and they are really family friendly with a children's play area

We always do this. They can't expect you to pay for a meal for a baby, and you get to choose which bits they do eat, no one will bat an eyelid. If we forget to take one we just ask for a side plate, never had a problem 😊

My little one is 14 months and I still take my own food for him wherever I go and I never get any pushback from wherever we are.

Yes of course you can. They're just a baby. There is a smaller area with soft stuff for babies but the bigger kids tend to take over
