Late period but negative pregnancy tests

We are actively trying for baby #2 right now. My first baby was born in January and is 10 months old. I stopped taking birth control in early October when I reached the end of the pack I was on. The first day of my last period was October 8, and the tracking app I use says I should have ovulated on October 22. I should have started my period this past Tuesday on 11/5, but I still have not, and it's Saturday now. I have taken 4 pregnancy tests now. One a couple days before the missed period, and one each morning Thursday through today, Saturday. All of them have come back negative. They have all been Clear Blue tests, one digital and the other 3 the rapid tests that show the plus or minus sign. Is it possible I'm pregnant and just getting false negatives? Or is it more like that my period is just late? For reference, when I got pregnant with my first, I had only been off birth control for 2 months, and I had one false negative the day I was supposed to start my period. I tested about 5 days after that with a digital test and was pregnant. Picture of my baby girl for tax.

Have you ever used an ovulation test, or do you just go off what the tracking app says? Not everyone ovulates at the same time in their cycle. It's possible you ovulated later than it thinks and you are just not far enough to get a positive read. This pregnancy I ovulated two weeks later than the app said, so it was two weeks after my missed period that I finally got a positive test and when I went in for my 8 week ultrasound I was only 6 weeks.

@Katrina I never have. This is only the third time I've ever tried to get pregnant, since I got pregnant with my first on the second try and this is only the first month we've actively tried for this one. We went in with my first one at 7 weeks after first day of last period, and they said I was actually only 5 weeks along. So maybe it's just too early. I don't know why they tell you to count from your first day of your last period if that's almost 2 weeks before you would actually ovulate and conceive.

Sounds like you ovulate later in your cycle than the "standard". I would just wait a few days and test again.

When you’re on birth control it makes you have a “normal” cycle such as 28 days. My regular cycle is anywhere between 32-38 days (typically 32/33) and I ovulate around cycle day 21. I would wait a few more days to see if you get a period and then test.

It took me 3 periods(cycles) to conceive my number 2 earlier this year. I stopped taking my birth control January 1st, had a small period January 4th for a few days then a regular period the end of January. Didn’t get a positive test until April 17th after a February and March period. Might take a couple months for your cycle to start ovulating on schedule. I would think you’re unlikely pregnant and your period is just trying to get back on a regular schedule. If it’s still not here by the end of the weekend take another one Monday morning

When I got pregnant the first test I took about 4 days into late period was negative. But my period didn’t come so I took another 3 days later, so a week after it was supposed to start and it was immediately positive. Could be your hormones aren’t high enough or it could be just a super late period or cycle miscalculation. Wishing you the best of luck!!

Are you breastfeeding ?

Super adorable 😍 💕

@Audrey no, we've bottle fed exclusively since she was a couple weeks old.
