Not taking bottle

I’m trying to pump and give baby breast milk through bottle so my partner can help with feeds and give me a little break because it’s getting a bit much but my son is just crying and gagging on the bottle and won’t suckle but he will suckle no problem when he’s on the breast. How do I combat this? I was planning on stopping breastfeeding in the near future but I’m a bit worried about it now

I've started doing the same and my baby gags too. We're trying the mam bottles which she seems to like but I feed her a little to start with and then my husband feeds with the bottle which seems to work! We also do it at her calmer time of the day so it's not added stress! You could try different bottles and see what works for him

What bottles are you trying? Our first would never take one and we gave up because it was miserable for everyone. But it meant she was attached to me until she was 1 - do not recommend. So keep trying everyday, different people giving it to her, different positions, try sitting down but try on the move as it may distract her, try different bottles etc

Maybe try different teat sizes! My little one will only drink from MAM teat size 0 and I’ve heard that this is the most similar to breastfeeding 😊

@Olivia agree with Olivia! We introduced a bottle at 3 weeks this time round because our daughter wasn’t putting on enough weight and we still use MAM size 0. She’s mostly breastfed but has a couple of top up bottles a day
