Advanced for age, kind of worried

My daughter is 2 years one month and is on par with most pre-k curriculum and some kindergarten…I lost count of how many words she says but last count was over 300. She’s passed all milestones for up to 4 years which on one hand is awesome but I’ve heard about people who are autistic showing that as a sign from a young age? She also does a lot of sensory seeking habits from shaking her head, walking on toes, touching something over and over again, spinning, etc. She has also started repeating herself up to 15 times (yes I’ve counted 😅) until you repeat back to her exactly what she’s said word for word with the exact same tone and everything. At her 2 year appointment I brought up my concerns and her pediatrician stated that “she talks well so I wouldn’t worry about her being autistic”….which isn’t reassuring. I’m thinking about getting a second opinion. Should I?

The pre k milestones are asks question like what is a coat for ? What is a crayon for? Can tell you about events that happened in her day in 4 or more words like “I played soccer today” can tell you what is going to happen next in a story she knows. Can draw a person with 3 or more body parts. Is she hitting those ? Bc if so maybe she’s just advanced

@Sharon she can do all of those except the body, we haven’t even tried that yet but yes. She’s up to 8 word sentences and can explain a lot of things. It’s just worrisome because a lot of the things she says aren’t her coming up with the answer it’s her repeating something that’s been said before

Does she play with other kids? Does she understand emotions or bring them up? How is she when you change plans on her ?

@Julie she does but she seems to copy them or play around them if that makes sense? She does bring up emotions but she copies them exact, if I tell her no she says I’m mad and crosses her arms and hmphs every single time in the exact way or if someone falls or hurts themselves she said sad and starts crying even if it doesn’t affect her. She has meltdowns almost when I change plans but she also gets distracted, she just turned two so I feel like that is on par

Repeating and mimicking words and learnt sentences isn’t a reflection of her true understanding. So for a two year old it’s more about subject - verb and mixing it up (I.e can you make the car jump? Can you make the frog fly), using first person pronouns rather than third person. It’s more about how language is used and the level of understanding with its appropriateness, than the amount she is saying. If she is in a nursery setting they have resources to tap into language further with her and explore it further. You can also look into GLP and analytical to see if she is displaying either/both (they can be both) of these ways of learning

P.S just re-read your original post and I would get a second opinion. Girls mask, so the autism diagnosis is harder for them to reach threshold. Being able to speak doesn’t mean someone isn’t autistic; there is SO much more to it than that

@Jazmin she does seem to reply correctly like if I ask what we did today she’ll say we went to the store or played or watched Ms Rachel etc but when she says it it definitely is her repeating sentences that I’ve said before the same exact way
