Totally felt it last year took almost a year I think for my daughter to get it right and pooping was the last thing she learned. I'd take her to the bathroom with me all the time and at night sometimes have her sitting on the potty for 30 minutes before bed. I had her watch a lot of cartoons focused on potty training. I would put her on the potty first thing in the morning, before and after meals, before and after we would go out and before nap and when she woke from nap. Then she was trained just for day but would have accidents overnight. She had 10 pairs of underwear and I would order pull-ups until her night time was under control. Be patient be vigilant, don't stress the kid out they'll get it and don't stress yourself out. Mine turned 4 in August and she finally got the hang right after she turned 4.
How old is your child? I worked in a nursery and it was easy to potty train kids then when they were ready, but starting too early can lead to frustrations from both sides. We would leave it for a month or so and then try again and continue this until they got it. Every child is different. The average age to be successfully potty trained is three for daytime, and five to six at night. You can persevere or you can give it a couple of months and go back to it, but try not to get stressed and don’t rush it, these things happen when they happen. X
I did the Oh Crap Potty Training method with both my kids just past 2 years old. First got it in a few days and was waking up dry within a week, but she was definitely more on the "unicorn" side. My second took a while longer and it was more gradual over a few weeks, and he didn't night train for another year. They both went through phases of accidents, but we just stayed consistent through it and they didn't last long. Usually related to constipation or being busy playing and not wanting to take a break. It helped that our daycare was very supportive of and familiar with the process.
I found it extremely frustrating for a long time, nearly 9 months. Many many accidents then issues with holding it in. Some children are easy and others are hard, I think I probably put too much pressure on things because we were sending my daughter at 2 and a half to nursery that only accepted potty trained toddlers, so I had to get it done by a specific date. Hard work but we got there!
Nope it finally clicked for my baby after months of torturing me and she is doing really great
I can feel your pain... My 4 year old went dry day and night very early, but constant poo accidents. I didn't want to turn back, as she was doing so well in other ways. Took about a year before she got it sorted. And my two year old has been going about 6 weeks. She does really well, then we have a day or two where we have multiple accidents and no reason for them. It is frustrating, but I don't want to go back to nappies. I'm just thankful we have hard flooring!
