Ibuprofen!! Honestly. If you pump you're telling your body to produce more milk, which might make it worse! I had it regularly when pumping. Tried hot compresses/hot showers, massage, pumping, expressing etc but the only thing that worked quickly was ibuprofen and I was worried about it reaching my baby so took the least possible and for only 24h
Massage when you shower and use a hot flannel on top !
For me it's ibuprofen, ice the breast/hot shower/cold cabbage on the breast. Massaging very very gently only works for me if I got sore breast tissues - doesn't really work for a clogged duct. Instead of pumping longer, I would only pump extra 5-10min max but I make sure I keep on top of my pumps (if it's a 3hr interval between pumps, I make sure to not delay it)
@Naila thank you, I’ll give this a try. Where will the white dot appear? On the nipple?
Yes right at the tip. Message me if you need more help x
Try not to pump a lot pump when its too painful its really hard to leave it but the more u pump the more milk your body will think it needs to make and you'll get more full. Try ice it instead of a hot water bottle and try hand express. Sounds silly but use your whole hand and then as u get to the end use just your finger and thumb. Usually a white dot appears after doing it a few times and thats your blockage and then keep expressing till it kind of pops out. Thats what worked for me. Hope it helps
