Postpartum hair loss

Ok mommas, is it normal to lose this much hair still. Baby is 5 months, just turned 5 months old and I’m losing so much hair. It scares me. I need a peace of mind and wondering if any other mommas are experiencing the same. Still taking prenatals. Eat pretty healthy, breastfeeding. I put castor oil in my hair hoping it helps but I feel like it makes more hair fall out.

Yup. Pretty scary. I avoid washing my hair as much as possible to not see my chunks of hair..

Unfortunately it is! I'm losing more than this everyday as well and my baby just turned 5 yesterday. Hang in there! It does get better since I'm also seeing new growth now

Feeling like I can go bald any day now! Been using this product to help with growth! (Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening)

Same!!! It’s depressing but just have to go through it

I’m so glad I’m not alone 💕 it’s comforting to know there are other moms going through the same thing.

It has been much worse for me(every time I wash, brush or just touch my hair I got more than that), It started when my Lo was 3 months old, now he is 5 and started to get better. Try to check your tyroide too, I did some bloodwork, and the doctor said that I am hypothyroid( its one of the causes of the hair loss too)!

Yep! Every time i wash my hair this is what i grt in the shower. Literally have to pick up my hair from the drain every shower. My girl is turning 5 months in 4 days! I eat healthy too, take prenatals. I ended up cutting my hair too. My hair was down to my lower back. I cut it to my shoulders, theres a lot less hair coming out now but still an abnormal amount of hair. Some morning when i wake up with my girl to breastfeed her i literally pick like 15 hairs off of me and my clothes, its insane. I heard hair skin and nails vitamins with collagen help, haven't tried them yet though.

Yup, normal 😭 it grows back but it takes a bit. And then there’s the awkward bay hairs everywhere stage for a while 😩

Im balding too 😭

Yup. I don’t brush my hair anymore because I’m scared it’ll turn me bald 😂

I lost a whole fistful this weekend

@Michelle no way I use that too!! Is it bad to be a little generous with it?

@Emily it’s so scary sometimes cause I already have fine hair and I feel like if I barely just touch my hair it falls out. Can’t wait for this phase to be over with.

I️ know and it’s so annoying I️ have hair flying everywhere lol but it should grow back eventually. But they say it’s because during pregnancy your hair falls out way less because it is saving nutrients for babies so that’s just all the pregnancy hair that’s falling out.

I started loosing hair when my baby turned 3 month old. She is now almost 5, and I’m still loosing even more than on the pictures every time I wash my hair :(( taking some vitamins and black seed oil but hasn’t been helping much yet

My hair shed a lot...my scalp wss showing through a lot in the front/sides. I start taking HERS hair loss viatmins and Beef Liver supplements and the hair is filling back in quickly just after 3 weeks of those supplements.

@Elle HERS is prescribed right? Online doctors I think I saw one time?

Mine has also started coming out in piles in the shower😭

I've lost about an inch from my hairline, I googled to see if minoxidil is safe when breastfeeding but it was inconclusive. Anyone found anything to help slow the loss down or speed up new growth that won't hurt my daughter?

@Sammi ive heard good things about Viviscal (not safe while breastfeeding) and Nutrafol (safe while breastfeeding).

Baby #6 for me and i lose hair like that after every baby. The tiny hairs that grow back are so annoying too

I’m also losing a lot of hair. I’m taking biotin but I haven’t seen any improvement

@Jessica of its any help…I don’t brush my hair unless I absolutely HAVE to. Mostly finger comb my hair and make sure I’m deep conditioning every wash, putting something on my ends and oiling my scalp

Change shampoos wash less condition more
