My dog is pretty chill thankfully but when my baby was younger I’d baby wear to go on walks bc it was hard to control the dog and the stroller 😂😭
I use a leash that clips around my waist and then push the stroller normally! It works great for us
I second the leash around the waist. I also use one of the big stroller clips to put the leash through so when the leash slackens it doesn’t get caught in the wheels. Takes a bit of getting used to but I found the dogs picked up on it pretty quickly.
Thank you everyone!! Just trying to think ahead
Yes to the waist leash! And bring treats and give your dog treats when they are walking on your side or wherever you want them to be while walking with the stroller. (Dog trainer here too)
I use a retractable leash and make sure the leash isn’t too far out that way my dog won’t accidentally trip my daughter when my dog decides to run back and forth on both sides of the sidewalk 😂 so I keep the leash short that way my dog can still walk but stay close to my side
Make sure dog is properly leash trained. Does dog walk at your heel or slightly ahead? Do they adjust or wait when you stop or change direction? Or do they pull and yank at leash so then you’re also pulling and yanking back? Start there, and train if necessary, then yes, waist leash.
@Rachel should I practice walking with the dog and stroller before the baby is born?
@Lindsey yes definitely!
I have a short leash for my dog that I attach to the stroller. I just don’t ever take my hands off the stroller unless she did try to take off but She is a pretty chill walker so it works for us. but wearing around the waist probably is the safer bet.
I would definitely start practicing if not going far I used an loved using the carry on that baby is on u an than walking the dog
I don’t, last time I tried my dogs tried flipping my son in his stroller😂🤦🏼♀️
