When you pump look at photos of your baby if you can't look at them physically. This can help trick your brain into thinking they're on you. If they're well enough to be held, skin to skin can help. And like what's been said check the flange size. It may not be right for you and that can make a big difference. Pumping is exhausting but make sure you're doing it every 2 to 3 hours for at least 15 minutes and no more then 30. A power pump might help once a day if you have time.
Along with the above I would consider your eating and drinking. Milk production needs you drinking and eating plenty.
How many weeks is baby? Are you allowed to hold them to do skin to skin? Maybe needing the oxytocin xxo
Have you met with a lactation coach in the Nicu? Staying hydrated with a lot of water and liquid IVs have been working wonders for me and even snacking on granola bars was a good choice for me. After skin to skin I usually produce the most milk
Eat lots of oat. Lots
Drink milk 🥛 like a pint of milk a day
Buy on Amazon brewers yeast and add it to the oats.
Also buy on Amazon soy lecithin and take 4 pills a day. And pump every 2.5 hours. Those things are what have helped me.
@Stephanie gone up to 7 times a day for 20mins
@Jo yes doing skin to skin
Are you doing skin to skin power pump
@Shannen can’t do that my baby is in the NICU atm but I’m looking at his pictures.
How often are you pumping? For how long? Do you have the correct flange size?
