How to entertain almost 2 year old

Hello ladies, my baby is 19 months and I need help knowing what activities I can do with her at home or stuff she can do while I’m busy, cooking/cleaning. When we aren’t out on play dates/walks/ baby classes - & we are at home she has loads of toys, books but she only ever picks out her books and occasionally watches her fave cartoon & when the tv is off she dances to nursery rhymes I play off alexa. If she’s not doing that she’s going through the kitchen cupboards & playing with anything but her toys! Would you guys please help a mum out with some activity ideas, don’t mind introducing arts and crafts/water based activities or anything to keep her entertained where she is also learning. What do you do with your kids? Advise/ideas are much appreciated! TIA ☺️

One simple idea…. I get sheets of card and put lots of lines of double sided sticky tape on it - do that most of the page is sticky (it’s cleaner than glue at this age) - then give lots of things to choose from to stick to the page, so they can make a picture. I bought flat foam shapes, some a glittery (so I chopped some of them up to throw on too). I bought lots felt shapes on sale after Easter (from the supermarket - so cheap!). Etc etc. that seems so far to be quite entertaining. And the good thing is that by using double sided tape rather than glue, I can peel most of it off and use it another time - with glue it wouldn’t be possible.

And painting on canvases (can repaint the canvas too) - with roller and paint has also been good. But depends on what flooring you have I guess. The floor is easily wipeable here - but if you had carpet, I wouldn’t rush to do this.

For cooking, I bought a learning tower and LO loved to help me cook. For cleaning, give her a spray bottle and rag or a mini broom and let her "help". Mine is 3.5 years old and still thinks cooking and household chores are the coolest activities 😄 Can you give her a designated drawer she can play with? Otherwise fridge magnets or a water colouring mat were a big hit with my girl. Or her play kitchen, she would play for a long time independently.

Also, I’m planning to buy a tiny wubble ball (not sure what age they’re actually for) - but I looked them us as I was looking for an alternative to balloons (because they have recently clearly been popular - but I find that specific thing really stressful just waiting for it to burst. So I’m hoping this wubble ball is a good alternative.

Look up hapa family montessori on YouTube your life will be a breeze 🫶

@Rosa thank you for all suggestions! They all sound really cost effective which is what I like 🤣

@Mirka brilliant idea! I have been thinking to do the same. She likes helping & I recently bought a play kitchen which needs set up so that would be perfect thank you!

@Sandra heard about this! This will be my next step ☺️

Have a look on Instagram there's tonnes of pages with easy to set up ideas to keep her busy while your cooking

Give her a chore to do while you clean! Give her a sponge and a little bucket with water and have her wipe down surfaces, or give a damp paper towel and let her walk around and dust 🤣 I’ve noticed when I’m cleaning my kids follow me around and mimic me, so I gave them a chore to do while I do mine 🙌🏼
