@Sarah yeah as far as I’m aware he’s had no referrals but I just don’t know how they’d know his name that’s what’s confusing me a little bit
It’ll just be taken off the NHS database. I get weird ones too, it’s really annoying actually cause you can’t unregister your number as it’s with the GPs, hospital, health visitors. My girl hasn’t been referred to anything and I get “log in for this” or do this nhs survey or 10 texts about flu jabs for her 🤦🏼♀️ unless there’s a health visitor thing in the red book or a GP issue I know about I ignore it and I don’t click any links in case xx
@Sarah okay thank you, I might just pop into his doctors and see if they know anything that I don’t and if not then I’ll just ignore it
Could you google the place and call them? Just say you've got a text and just being cautious?
If you type the link in it’s a real link to the alder hey children’s nhs page. I would find their number and ring them to find out what they want. But all nhs systems will be linked so that’s how they will know his name. X
I blocked a phone number because I kept getting messages like this about my daughter- assumed it was scam and they were fake messages… turned out to be the local health visitor 😂 but I’d always find a phone number to ring and check if you’re not sure
I went into the doctors and they had a look on their system and it is real 😂 it’s a referral for his tongue tie that we put it months and months ago, still find it a bit strange that it’s been sent to Liverpool when there’s a children’s hospital in Manchester which is where I from 🤷♀️😂
Sorry to jump on….. Can I ask what they’re going to do about your little ones tongue tie… my little one is 17 month and is tongue tied, but my doctor said just leave it? Xx
@Natalie the only information I have about it is from google so as far as I’m aware because of his age they will have to put him to sleep and then they’ll just snip it and cauterise it. His dad is also tongue tied and he’s absolutely fine the only thing that’s pushed me to get my sons done is because his speech is no where near what it should be for his age
@Natalie I did take him to the doctors so they could assess it and they did recommend that I get it cut. There’s also different severities of tongue tie so maybe your little one’s isn’t bad
@Kayleigh ah thanks for this! When you say speech isn’t where it should be, is that because he is not saying as many words as he should? Or it’s effecting his speech in terms of how words can be said? Just want to keep an eye on my babies and if issue like that I could just take him back xx
@Natalie he isn’t saying as many words as he should be. It can also cause them to have a lisp ( which nothing against people with a lisp) but kids can be mean and when he gets to school age I don’t want him being bullied or feeling bad about something that I could have prevented, but again that’s not always the case as his dad doesn’t have a lisp
@Kayleigh thanks for this, was asking as my little one is 17 months and barely says alot so I get worried :(
id just ignore it. If you’re not part of the Liverpool trust, unless you’ve been referred to Alder Hey for specialist care it’s probably just a paperwork thing. I get tons of useless NHS texts and emails and most are spam. Tbh though mine always say “to the parent/guardian of XXX” full name and stuff.
