Baby's weight and height slowing against the curve

I just had my baby's 6 month appointment and although she has gained weight she hasn't grown in height this month. The doctor has ordered a lot of tests but also wants me to review my breastfeeding and consider formula. I want to got back to pumping - something I've never kept up as baby doesnt like the bottle. I will try a power pump over the next few days but I was hoping for advice on the following: 1. People who feed on demand and do contact naps - when do you fit in pumping? At the moment we also do breakfast and lunch (breakfast 1 hour after morning feed and lunch 1 hour after morning nap 2. Any other tips on increasing supply at 6 months - i feel fairly confident on her latch. I have lost a lot of weight since breastfeeding so I wonder if I need to eat more.

Thanks for posting. Following 🙏🏼

I pump every morning while my husband bottle feeds our 5 month old. I get so much more by pumping first thing in the morning. Then I pump again after baby goes to bed. I try to drink coconut water beforehand as I feel like that helps. It's no where near the amount I get in the morning though. Sometimes I'll throw on a wearable pump during the day if baby isn't being too much of a handful.

I’m not understanding why formula is suggested if she has gained weight. Even if she did not get taller it does not seem feeding is the issue based on the weight gain.

@🧿🤰🏾🥰 she didn't gain as much as she's supposed to, but did gain. I don't want to add in formula for a multitude of reasons. I'm going to power pump for a few days - but i find finding the time to pump and feed on demand and do two meals a day and contact nap... a challenge

Hey same thing happened to my son, he was born on the 50th percentile and dropped to the 9th, he is now following the 9th percentile from around 4 months. I personally wouldn't introduce formula, every baby is different and the nhs really need to update how they do things, that percentile nonsense is so outdated anyway! I would recommend pumping and double up the fat, if u have 2 bottles, use the fat from both in one bottle. I used the rest of the milk in my sons bath so it wasnt a waste That's healthy fats from ur milk so nothing to worry about.

Also if ur stating solids feed baby bone marrow, make broth with all the bones and fat from chicken n beef, its full of nutrients that baby needs and high in iron too. Add a little of the stock to puree and the fat from ur milk. Even if ur swing blw add it to food u give baby I still do that to my sons food, i got told to switch to formula too by my Dr's. Was the most ubserd thing I heard. Expecially since my son was happy and healthy every other way just wasn't following the growth chart.

@Shahida thank you so much. This is such a helpful comment and reassuring too.
